InvestorCOM One of Canada’s Top Small & Medium Employers
For the fifth year, InvestorCOM has been named one of Canada’s Top SMEs.
Toronto, ON, April 4, 2023 – InvestorCOM, a leading regulatory software provider to the wealth management industry, today announced the company has been named one of Canada’s Top Small & Medium Employers (SMEs) for 2023. This is InvestorCOM’s fifth SME award win; previous wins were in 2018, 2020, 2021, and 2022.
Now in its 10th year, Canada’s Top Small & Medium Employers is an editorial competition that recognizes the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) that offer the nation’s best workplaces and forward-thinking human resources policies. Canada’s SME sector is tremendously important to the nation and is responsible for over half of the country’s private-sector employment. Editors at Mediacorp review employers on eight criteria, which have remained consistent since the project’s inception: (1) Workplace; (2) Work Atmosphere & Social; (3) Health, Financial & Family Benefits; (4) Vacation & Time Off; (5) Employee Communications; (6) Performance Management; (7) Training & Skills Development; and (8) Community Involvement.
“InvestorCOM has done a great job developing creative solutions that improve the work environment and the lives of our employees,” said David Reeve, CEO at InvestorCOM. “This includes offering a flexible work environment, tuition subsidies, fun social activities throughout the year, and paid time off to allow employees to support charities that are meaningful for them.”
The judges re-selected InvestorCOM for several reasons including:
- Parental leave top-up payments at 70 percent of salary for 17 weeks for new moms and dads.
- Wellness and lifestyle spending account to help cover costs related to gym memberships, a personal trainer, daycare services, and more.
- Matching RSP contributions and sharing the company’s success through a profit-sharing plan.
“In contrast to larger organizations where there can sometimes be layers of red tape around career growth and interaction with other departments, SMEs have a ‘culture of connection’ where employees help build the company and contribute ideas,” adds Richard Yerema, executive editor at Canada’s Top 100 Employers project. “This atmosphere allows employees to build deeper connections with colleagues at all levels of seniority and lets them see the impact of their work.”
