AI supports human decision-making, it doesn’t replace it

When we launched our Publisher/AI solution earlier this year, we realized that Artificial Intelligence will only solve part of the problem.  With our solution there is definitely the need for humans to complete the “last mile” of the solution, whether it is Natural Language Generation or French translation.  We anticipate that there will be more “hybrid” AI solutions that combine and require human reasoning to deliver an end-to-end solution.  This post from Singularity University provides a great overview of the benefits (and limitations) of AI and the necessity of human participation.  I think that Michael’s final quote describes this technology/human co-dependency very well – “Intelligent technology can improve human outcomes, but it needs educated, imaginative humans to realize full viability.”
